A couple of weeks ago, I got to organize the cutest tea party that ever took place this side of the rabbit hole to Alice’s Wonderland. Three little besties all converged in my assistant’s gorgeous fairytale garden for a cuppa tea and an adorable outdoor children’s portrait photography session. As you probably know by now, I can’t get enough of styled children’s portrait sessions. It’s no surprise, then, that the idea of a tea party with a vintage tea set, matching dresses, a dreamy garden, and three of the cutest little friends I’ve ever met, was my idea of heaven.
After pouring each other and drinking their (imaginary) tea, the girls took turns watering the flowers, picking a small bouquet, and exploring the garden. Even though they were in matching outfits, each girl’s individual style shone through with poofy pigtails, a beautiful handmade bonnet by Sweet As April, and a silky blonde ponytail longer than I’ve ever seen on a one and a half year old!
In total, the photo portion of the session took around half an hour, with the entire experience lasting an hour. When the tea party was over, each girl got to choose their favourite cup and saucer to take home as a memento! (This was my favourite part… so cute!!) The session fee included a mounted fine art print for each mama to enjoy, along with the corresponding web-sized digital image, ready for sharing on social media. The girls had a blast, the mamas loved it, and my assistant chased the toddlers like the pro she is (did I mention she manages a daycare when she’s not baby wrangling for me?).
I’ll be offering outdoor children’s portrait photography Tea Party Sessions all summer long. I’d love to host one for you and your littles! Click here to reach out and book one while this gorgeous garden is in full bloom!
